Matthew Turner: I got my start in cycling with early family trips to Moab, Utah. After becoming hooked with mountain biking, I became a member of Summit Bike Club and Competitive Cyclist MTB Team in 2012 and was an original member of the Utah High School NICA league. As a first year, elite athlete, I plan to continue to be a role model for young Summit Bike Club members while taking on more responsibilities with the organization.
As a USA Cycling Academic All-Star, I will ride for Fort Lewis College during his senior year, before graduating with a marketing degree. My race schedule in the summer will consist of endurance mountain bike races locally and across the U.S. with potential international competitions at a professional level.
Zach Calton: I am an Ogden, UT native and I currently live in Bountiful, UT while attending the University of Utah where I study computer engineering which I hope I can take into the bike industry when I graduate. In addition to Cross Country MTB, I also enjoy racing and riding enduro and road bikes. I am a leader of the University of Utah cycling club and I am playing a role in reviving that program as it has hit some big financial barriers over the past 5 years. I have raced Cross Country for the past three years on the Competitive Cyclist
Elite Team. Over the course of that time, I have developed into a rider that can race successfully
race at a high level, while fostering a relationship with my local riding community through coaching with Summit Bike Club and racing at an international and local level.
Matt Behrens: As a Park City native, the cycling and outdoor community welcomed me open-armed as struggled to find my identity through my teen years. Six years later I am chasing a dream that has been sitting at the back of my mind since my introduction to cycling; become a professional cyclist and pursue higher education. I have been an integral part of the Summit Bike Club since it’s inception in 2012 and I am proud to say I have had a
significant hand in its success. Through my 4 years of coaching youth mountain bikers with Summit Bike Club and Young Riders, I have developed a report with my community and am respected as a coach and advocate. My passion for backcountry skiing, mountaineering, fishing, and backpacking compliments my full training and race schedule of cross country, enduro and road cycling. If I'm not out training or studying, you’d find me in the mountains. Now as an incoming Freshman in Cal Poly’s Honors program, I am excited to become involved in yet another cycling community through collegiate racing and volunteer efforts.
