Mark started running after his successful college and post-collegiate soccer career came to an end. Prior to 2018, he found success at sub-ultra distance trail racing. While still relatively inexperienced in the sport, Mark Bottenhorn burst onto the ultra running scene with a 3: 34 course record in his Ultra Running debut at the Hellcat 50k in January of 2018.
Following the Hellcat 50k Mark has turned his attention to the Northface Endurance Championships 50M in November of 2018 and attempting to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Marathon Trials.
When he's not running, you can find Mark advocating for mental health awareness.
